Having successfully downsized clients, family friends, and our own parents to smaller homes and to Senior Living Communities, we are aware and empathetic to the complexities of downsizing and decluttering the family home.
Local, Experienced and Knowledgeable
We work with trusted partners in your area, from consignment stores, auction houses, appraisers, moving companies, and interior decorators, etc. As the only Senior Downsizing Service in Mercer County, we bring local knowledge and service that no other company can match.
Our Founder and President, John Walsh, has 15+ years of experience assessing risks, reducing costs, and seamlessly coordinating complex insurance programs for 200+ global subsidiaries as a former insurance executive at Zurich Insurance, Marsh & McLennan, and Aon in both Morristown, NJ and New York City. Local to New Jersey and Southeastern Pennsylvania, John Walsh grew up in Princeton, attended Princeton Day School, graduated from The Lawrenceville School, obtained his B.A. from The University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, and earned a dual-major MBA in Finance and Marketing from Fordham University in New York City.
Successfully downsizing his own parents twice while working full-time, he is skilled in project management, collaboration, and problem solving. Our company enjoys helping families during stressful situations, demonstrating progress and overcoming obstacles, and fulfilling a growing need.
Senior Move Management Training
Walsh Senior Solutions is trained, insured and bonded by The National Association of Senior Move Managers (NASMM.org), the leading membership organization for Senior Move Managers in the United States, Canada and abroad. NASMM is recognized for its innovative programs and expertise related to Senior Move Management, transition and relocation issues affecting older adults.
Senior Move Management professionals have backgrounds in gerontology, social work, health care, nursing and psychology, and others come to this growing industry from the corporate world of insurance, project management, technology, legal services, accounting or marketing. Senior Move Managers require a profound commitment to connecting with older adults and a desire to perform meaningful work.
Senior Move Managers have significant expertise in resources and approaches that save money, reduce stress and produce quality results. Services are client-centered and personalized to meet the client's needs and preferences.
Families, particularly, should never doubt the power of an outside expert as all members of the National Association of Senior Move Management must meet strict vetting requirements before approval, including:
- Obtain general business liability insurance
- Take and pass NASMM’s Cornerstone Courses
- Provide NASMM with two letters of recommendation from senior clients they have moved or senior living communities with which they work
- Provide a link to a live website highlighting their Senior Move Management Services
- Sign and abide by the NASMM Code of Ethics and submit to oversight and guidance from the NASMM Ethics Compliance Commission
Consumers and referral sources should be confident that NASMM members represent the most qualified and capable Senior Move Managers in this growing profession.
